Tangled Craft

Cali and I made this Tangled Tower one day. I think it turned out so stinkin' cute!

I found the idea on disneyfamily.com. The main pieces were printables that you just cut out

The body of it was an empty paper towel roll covered in construction paper

The decorations were supposed to be painted on, but I didn't have any paint so I cut them all out of construction paper. The roof was just a cute printed paper with purple flowers on it. The hair was supposed to be out of yarn, but I made it out of rafia. It basically is just the same idea as the original one, but nothing like it haha!
It ended up taking alot longer than I thought it would. If you make it, definately plan on 3-4 hours!

Cali's GIRLY Room

Cali's room started out boring with this terribly hideous border

....along with this hideous valance! Yuck! Definately not my style

Once again, Paul and his dad added the chair rail and the beadboard. They do some really great work! Cali chose her paint color and we painted it this pretty color of PINK to make Cali's room girly and oh so pretty!

....and this is how it looks today! I love it, but it needs another color and I haven't decided which color I want to add in yet

Above her bed is her name that I made for her before she was born. I love my Cali-Girl!

This isn't in the picture, but it is hung just to the left of the window, or to the right of the bed, so it is the first thing you see when you walk into the room. This picture was taken by our good friend, Haley Miller, and you can find her on Captures Photography. I blew it up to be 16x20 and you just can't miss it! Cali is my beautiful little girl!

and....the other side of the room

Cali's pretty little blessing dress. Once again, the shadow box is from Michaels and it is super easy to just pin the dress right into place

Cali's keepsakes :) I made the wooden blocks with pieces of scrapbook paper and sticker letters. They match her name abover her bed. The doll was a gift I gave to my Grandma when I was a little girl and it sings "I am a Child of God." Cali loves to listen to it and sing along. The picture is of Cali when she was blessed with her blessing written up on it. It was also put together by our friend, Haley Miller, as well as the picture on the second shelf of Paul kissing her while she was crying. So sweet! Next to the picture on the top shelf is Cali's hand that was casted at about 2 1/2 months. It reminds me of how small she once was. The piggy bank is where she keeps her money after she helps with the chores. Lastly, her name on the second shelf is porcelain and has nursery rhyme characters on it given to her at birth by her Grandma.

Cali is my sweet little princess and I love her oh so much! I love creating a space for her to have all to herself that she can enjoy

Colin's Room Transformation

When we moved into our house, I was dying to paint and decorate my kid's rooms. I absolutely LOVE how they turned out! Here is Colin's room before we did anything to it

Bleh. B O R I N G!

My husband and his dad put up the cute chair rail and beadboard in the room, which I LOVE, and then we painted it this pretty color of blue! Lookin' good boys!

Here's how it looks today. I love the combination of white and brown together with ANY color.

Colin's crib with his blanket that was my inspiration piece, which every room's gotta have! -made by my sister-in-law, Ashley :)

I did not make his name. I had an idea of what I wanted to do and stumbled across these letter frames that were exactly what I had in mind, thanks to Hobby Lobby and their amazing sales! Lucky me! I only re-did the ribbon from white to brown so it adds a little more contrast

I also love to frame my kid's blessing outfits. I got this shadow box at Michaels and pinned my little man's suit right into it. Super Easy! Other half of my favorite room

My beloved rocking chair, that I spend alot of treasured time in, with Colin's quilt his Grandma made for him. I love this quilt and I love how she added ric-rac, buttons, and braided cross-stitch thread for tails! A special blanket for my special little man :)

This painting was done by my brother, Alan. I love it! It is so beautiful and takes me to a relaxing place. I love having it in my nurseries because of the baby pink and blue in it.

I chose this valance to help bring brown into the room. They are up with my favorite light-blocking panels that are my secret to training my babies to sleep in. Works great!

This was my last touch to his room. I added it right above his closet to represent how I feel about my baby. I love this quote and I love my angel baby

A friend of mine from college is an interior designer and on her blog she says that your house should represent who you are. You need to add your personal touch so when somebody comes into your house, they get a feeling of who you are and what is most important to you. She has a great blog about design ideas on a budget.
